Avondale Presbyterian Church Announces EPIC –
A Revolutionary New Christian Worship Service Presented in a Casual and Friendly,
Musically- and Spiritually-Uplifting Environment on Saturday Evenings!

Beginning Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 6:30 pm, the Avondale Presbyterian Church will be alive with music, Bible teaching, prayer and fellowship  as it celebrates the first EPIC Contemporary Worship Service.  This new Saturday evening service was formed to reach out to people who are looking for a less formal worship experience with a more contemporary style of music and preaching. 

EPIC, an acronym for “experiencing personal intimacy with Christ,” was developed for today’s youth, young adults, caregivers, individuals with disabilities, families and anyone else who prefers a contemporary style versus a traditional style of worship.  This service is for all who yearn to know God, to know God better, to grow in their faith and understanding of the Scriptures, to find God's purpose for their lives, to find answers for some of life's questions and/or to fellowship with other Christians.  The Avondale Presbyterian Church is ADA Compliant with an elevator and wheelchair-accessible restrooms.

The members of the Avondale Presbyterian Church believe that EPIC is the right ministry at a time when so many are looking for a place where they can find hope;  where they can experience true compassion and hospitality; where they and their friends and family can learn how Scripture brings hope to their lives.   It’s an opportunity for people to meaningfully connect with one another on a variety of levels/needs and find encouragement and support in a warm and informal atmosphere.

Music is a key element in the EPIC Worship Service.  The praise band, named EPIC PRAISE is comprised of three vocalists, three guitarists and a keyboard player.  The songs are contemporary, written and composed by today’s Christian songwriters, and designed to lead you to worship Christ in spirit and truth.  Their upbeat tempos will get you off your seat, clapping and singing along with everyone else.  Also incorporated into the EPIC worship is time for fellowship: connecting, listening, praying, and ministering to one another.  Try EPIC on … it just might be what you’ve been yearning for!
