Prayer Ministry of Avondale Presbyterian Church

Prayer Minister -- Marjorie Pickel
Would you like to move your Prayer Life to a new level? Well, sign up for the 40 Days of Prayer which begins Monday, April 5th. It is the period between Easter and Pentecost. Remember, Jesus told His disciples to remain in Jerusalem and wait for the gift His Father promised,THE HOLY SPIRIT.  So we are allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our spirits by the 40 Days of Prayer. It will be for 8 weeks, meeting weekly on Sunday Evenings 6:00 to 7:30 PM. During the week you will be using a devotional, LOVE TO PRAY which will prepare you for discussion and Bible study in the small group you have chosen. Do not miss this opportunity to grow in your prayer life and spiritually. LOVE TO PRAY devotionals will be available for you next Sunday for a donation of $7.00. You may sign up for a small group at that time as well.

Prayer is vital to our congregation, both corporately and individually.  Weekly Praise and Prayer Meetings are held every Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. All are welcome.

The Prayer Minister prepares weekly prayer guides that contain specific prayer requests and focus the people’s prayer.

Thoughtful articles in the monthly church newsletter also give further insights on prayer.

Following each worship service individuals may seek personal prayer in the Prayer Room. behind the sanctuary. Requests are also prayed for in  the prayer room.

Prayer shields are maintained for our pastor and leadership.

Telephone and e-mail prayer chains are activated as needs arise in the congregation and community throughout the week.

Special events such as prayer walks and praise and healing services are arranged on an occasional basis.

A  Kid's Prayer Ministry has been established, and kids can come to "The Quarry" for personal prayer the first Sunday of each month after the 11:00 Service. Prayer Ministers are: Julie Swisher, (adult) and Angela Rupard, (teen).

Avondale Presbyterian Church is a co-sponsor of The Healing Prayer Ministry of Southern Chester County along with The New London Presbyterian Church and Vineyard Christian Fellowship at the Barn. The Healing Prayer Ministry meets in the Timothy House of Avondale Presbyterian Church every Saturday at 7 pm except holiday weekends.  All are welcome!  For more information regarding the Healing Prayer Ministry, please read the brochure.
